In November 2013, we held Celebrate! Japanese Cuisine and Culture@Liang Court! on every weekend!



【The 2nd week : ~Go Fresh with SUSHI~】
Date& Time : 9th, 10th Nov. – 2.00pm (1st session), 4.00pm (2nd session)
■ Seminar on the secret of making the rice for sushi more delicious. The best way to cook rice at home in Singapore and turn it into Sumeshi (Sushi rice)
■ Let’s try making thin and thick Sushi rolls with Singaporeans’ favourite ingredients such as deep fried shrimp, salmon, natto and so on.

※Please register 1 adult & 1 kid as a pair. 【8 pairs / 16 persons】If  interested, please registrar now!




【The 3rd week : ~Let’s Eat “UMAMI”! Taste Japan~ 
Date& Time :16th, 17th Nov.- 2.00pm,  4pm-  (duration approx. 30mins)

■ Easy steps to Delicious Temaki Sushi (Hand rolled sushi)
Date & Time : 16th, 17th Nov.- 2.00pm (duration approx. 30mins)
For this session, we would like to welcome parents and kids to make their own sushi rolls.Temaki sushi is very easy and fun to make at home. Mr. Paul from Ike-Ike sushi (活けいけ寿司) Liang Court branch will introduce how to enjoy Temaki sushi the Singapore way.

■ Let’s Eat “UMAMI”! Taste Japan
Date & Time : 16th, 17 th Nov. – 4.00pm (duration approx. 30mins)
In this session, we will introduce Japanese unique “UMAMI” to you though Ochazuke, a Japanese tea rice dish. We will start from an introduction of Ochazuke, which is a type of healthy Japanese fast food. In fact, Ochazuke can be made anyhow you like. For simple ones, you can add dried plums, for more complex flavours, you can choose to add sashimi.
Following that, we will explain Japanese “UMAMI” by providing an experience of the taste of “Dashi”. We would like you to try a bowl of Seabread Ochazuke. You can choose to pour either “houji-tea” or “dashi” according to your preference.




【The 4th week:~Japanese sake, A Warrior’s Guide to Japanese Liquor~】
Date& Time : 23th, 24th Nov. – 2.00pm (Basic session), 4.00pm (Advanced session)

■Basic session:
Date &Time:22th, 23rd Nov. – 2.00pm (※duration approx. 30mins)
At the Basic session, you can learn about the various kinds of Japanese sake and how they are made.

 Advance session (Pairing):
Date&Time: 22nd, 23rd Nov. – 4.00pm  (※duration approx. 30mins)
At the Pairing session, you can learn about the index that indicates the characteristics of sake and gain knowledge on the ways to match sake with your food.
